Re: what's so funny about that?

I watched a little of Russell Peters's new special "Deported" and I was kinda bummed that right out of the gate are just a bunch of jokes about getting fat. I'm partially offended in a woke way (although obviously I'm not that woke or I wouldn't be watching Russell Peters) but mostly just because it...

Re: Observations of the Random sort

If Ellie still wants a tramp stamp but doesn't feel mathematical enough to deserve a Mandelbrot, maybe she could compromise and get a tattoo of Charlie Chaplin? Possibly done as a postage stamp. This is hilarious! I love this idea. I might actually do this someday. "Why do you have a Hitler tramp s...

I used to want a tramp stamp tattoo that was (an approximation of, obviously, haha) the Mandelbrot Set. I guess I still kinda do, although now that I've failed as a math major it seems poser-y.

https://twitter.com/EdwardNorton/status/1329728889296355328?s=20 Thread. I thought this was an interesting take, although I'm not sure I give Trump that much credit for accepting he is going to leave the office at some point. I do agree though that he's not trying to stage a coup because he craves p...

Re: The son of "What the hell are YOU staring at?"

I think Fargo probably suffers from a lot of "Seinfeld is Unfunny" if you're watching it for the first time now. The whole woodchipper thing, for instance, was immensely unexpected. But now it's such a standard joke you can get subpoena'd in a comments section.

Re: Star Trek Wankery

The unearned emotional stakes are still there, but that's a symptom of the larger GAoTV 10-episode-season model. GAoTV? It's certainly not an artifact of the 10 episodes every year and a half model. Plenty of great shows have used that model without resorting to unearned emotional stakes. Sure, but...

Raising this thread from the dead to confess that I know very little about Margaret Thatcher (history is hard, okay?) but it's always seemed to me from the types of criticism she got and the types of people she got it from, that she was probably actually pretty great? Anyway a new season of The Crow...

The kid who played Jojen Reed in game of thrones has to play Kushner. He'll have to drop the accent though. The actor who was also the little motherless kid in Love, Actually? Who's 30 but looks about 9? I don't see it... (Googling about Kushner, I did find this though...) https://twitter.com/Uncle...
