Re: Damn database problems

I'm in on Safari. You're a moderator, though. Remember back when we were having this same problem but it was only people with mod/admin powers who couldn't log in or reset their password? I wonder if it's somehow the opposite now ... COMPUTERS R HARD WAHHHHH Yeah, I thought about that myself. I jus...

Re: Damn database problems

Another data point-I am posting from an iPad with no issues, however, I’m doing so on Chrome. I’ll try safari and see if that works.

Re: Calling 2020 for Entropy

There is no movement. Based on what I've seen of its doings over the years, I'd cross the street to keep from encountering well over half of the membership of the LP. Someone should start a new libertarian party called something entirely meaningless and screen membership to weed out the obvious loo...

https://twitter.com/Jorgensen4POTUS/status/1291889336422719488?s=19 I will not be able to attend the campaign rally tomorrow morning. I will be getting a rabies vaccine as a precaution after having been bitten by a bat near the start of this campaign tour! I have every intention of participating in...

Re: When journalism goes bad

WWII did a lot to quiet anti-Catholic sentiment in this country. And the fact that Kennedy was a no-shit war hero who actually never should have been anywhere near combat for medical reasons but who demanded to serve anyway did a lot to help in his individual case. I've never really read the full s...

I haven't seen the Axios interview, but if it was the massive piece of stupidity the media claims, it doesn't seem to have affected the Orange One's approval ratings.

At least, in the end, I have now setup the pi as an attic cam and after scanning through the footage there wasn't any animal activity last night (we sometimes hear scuffling noises at night).

Re: Portable Techno-Capitalism

Anybody tried out Google Fi? I'm vaguely considering it but it's hard to compare pricing apples to apples. I've been using it for a little less than a year. I switched after growing tired of Verizon's ever increasing rates. My experience so far has been very good. Coverage is equal to, and in some ...

And now Rand Paul has called for NY Governor Cuomo's impeachment . Apparently nothing Trump has done is worthy of impeachment, but Cuomo's decisions - flawed as they may have been - are. The Lincoln Project is definitely getting under the skin of the right. I’m pretty sure NR has more articles attacking them than attacking Biden. One of which was where a former senior editor was saying that you can tell a lot about them by who funds the Lincoln Project. Is NR now on the Trump Train...

Re: On the modern electric guitar

You get different sounds with a pick. And you get different sounds depending on the pick you use. I frequently use a pick playing bass. That plus the amp I use (which is an old solid-state Peavey Keyboard amp...) gives me a nice growl when I want it. I don't know that I've ever heard people looking...

Is that common? I use to hang around with my roommate's rock star wannabe friends and I don't think I ever saw that.
It's not unheard of, but among bassists, being only or primarily a pick player is looked down on.

Re: On the modern electric guitar

Any tips for approximating Duff's tone? ETA: Rocket Queen is just plain fun to play on drums. A P/J bass, playing with a pick, and having a somewhat trebly, "clanky" tone with some overdrive should get you 90% of the way there. I wouldn't swear that you couldn't do it with only a P pickup, but I th...
