Re: Orange is the new President

How in Galt's name does Trump think that he is going to be helped by releasing video of him walking out of an interview like a petulant toddler ? https://twitter.com/arlenparsa/status/1319302033879535617 Because he’s pwning the libs and the media at the same time, and punishing them for having the ...

Re: Twitter!

I'd go with The Warriors. Get the city to pay you to take six blocks of slum off their hands. Get vendors to pay you rent on themed drug stores and newspaper stands. Get nerds to pay you cosplay tournament entrance fees and let them beat each other to death for the entertainment of park goes that p...

Re: Calling 2020 for Entropy

No SMOD? Can 2020 get any worse? Well there's an elections coming up, and some people think it matters. I think it only matters if you arent ready to just burn everything down regardless of good or bad. Unfortunately, an appallingly large percentage of Americans lack the foresight to realize "If I ...

Re: Random covid-19 observations

I can’t speak to dexamethazone, but I do know that the one time I was prescribed solu-medrol, I couldn’t finish the scrip. I became extremely edgy. As in hair-trigger, batshit crazy overreaction to nothing in particular edgy. After a couple of days off of the stuff, that went away. It’s a known thin...

Re: This is the thread for people who died, died.

I was never a huge Van Halen fan but I did like listening to some of his stuff, and of course I'd be a fool not to recognize the huge impact that he had on rock guitar. The funny thing is that some of his music doesn't sound all that revolutionary or unusual now...but that's precisely because he ma...

Re: Random covid-19 observations

I am taking for granted that Trump is in far worse shape than he and his spineless doctors are letting on. Maybe he'll pull through this thing -- unlike Cain, Trump has the advantage of literally the best medical care on the planet, AND some experimental covid drugs which Cain did not have -- but T...

I haven’t actually seen the footage, but I’ll take a look when I get a chance. In general, though, in (very) rough order, the signs of respiratory distress are: 1) Tachypnea-Simply, unusually rapid breathing. It may also be deeper than usual. 2) Posturing-The patient may unconsciously lean forward, ...

Re: Random covid-19 observations

If covid works on Trump's body at roughly the same rate it did for Herman Cain, this means Trump will die only a day or two before the election. Nothing remotely like that has happened in all of American history. So WTF would occur if it DID? I am taking for granted that Trump is in far worse shape...

Re: This is the thread for people who died, died.

VanHalen was never all that high in my personal rock pantheon, but there was no denying that Eddie was an incredible musician, and among the best rock guitar players ever. (Surpassed only by Stevie Ray Vaughn and Hendrix, IMHO). It’s a shame that the speed of churn in popular music is such that he w...

Re: Orange is the new President

After watching events today, I'm firmly out of the 'skeptic' and cynic frame of mind on this. Every narrative about this runs counter to every narrative that Trump's supporters have been convincing themselves of for the last 5 years. Except the one where covid is no more serious than the flu. Which...

Didn't they drop out for a bit in the late 90s? Either way, that's shitty news. Honda has a long history in F1, and I've always thought that is one reason their street engines are so damn good.

Biden needs a lozenge. WHAT MORON THOUGHT THIS WOULD EVER BE A GOOD FORMAT? Like any format wouldn't be a debacle. Mind, I still don't buy the point of a debate. That's a good point, Dr. T. I know that he did get a heeyooge refund several years ago by claiming massive losses. Given that, it seems that he's either guilty of tax fraud or just a shitty businessman. Given what I know of the man, I'd believe both could well be true.

I wondered about that myself. Isn't making a business look like it's losing money when the IRS comes calling a pretty standard practice?

Re: Orange is the new President

There's something hilarious about the idea of Trump being so desperate for re-election because it keeps him from having to give back bogus tax refunds with interest. I don't recall those, which is odd. I did see a few craptastic trucks, and a few people openly carrying. However, most of these peopl...

If they want to keep things going, and keep those contracts rolling in, they’ll need to keep the base amped up. And his base loves cruelty for cruelty’s sake. And barely concealed bigotry. The next four years are going to suuuuuck.

I will quote Hamilton, from a song that feels appropriate at the moment. “We’re gonna fly a lot of fl...
