That’s exactly when my family moved from NY to DC, (1978) but my earliest Orioles memories were Cal Ripken & Eddie Murray circa the ‘83 series. Looking it up, Palmer was on that team too, but I just don’t remember him specifically. (Now looking at the names, I remember the Martinezes). ( I also do remember seeing the 1981 series with the Dodgers and Yankees on TV, and both Reggie Jackson & Fernando Valenzuela playing, but nothing about the series after that)

I wasn't counting the days until November 3rd. I was counting the days until January 3rd 2021, hoping that RBG would make it until that date and that the Senate would change hands.

Now is not the time for sarcasm I guess.

Gale Sayers.

He ran like a gazelle, but is line had more holes than a calendar. I think he ran as many yards back and forth across the field as he did forward. I am of the opinion that he should be ranked a little higher amongst the all time greats than he generally comes in at.

Well his career got cut short due to a knee injury so he wasn't able to rack up a lot gaudy stats. He was also on a pretty mediocre team at the time which didn't help.
