Re: The Future Will Despise Us Brutal Bastards
Lots of things are possible. No shit. It's more likely that you will get a skin infection with excess bathing than with not enough bathing, for the reasons given above. To recap: cracked skin, altered flora = higher probability of infection. It's possible that it has the potential to maybe increase...

Re: The Future Will Despise Us Brutal Bastards
I should point out that it's possible that excess bathing/ washing, especially with antibacterial soaps, has the potential to increase the likelihood of infection. Dry, cracked skin permits invasion, and altering the normal flora of the skin can let bad actors take over, much the way taking antibiot...

Re: Occam, Trump, and Russia
Oh and now Nunes has admitted he didn’t even read the underlying intel. Wow, that is so surprising. I am very shocked and surprised. I did not see that coming at all. You can't actually really blame him for that. The deal is that one Republican and one Democrat on the committee get to actually see ...

Re: Masculinity, so fragile
I saw a short clip of his convo with Paglia that is relevant to this discussion, but I don't recall it verbatim. I listened twice to his back and forth with the lady in Britain that came off looking like a total fool. I don't subscribe fully to what he said in that conversation, but it's not beyond ...

There's no denying the Dems were the pro-slavery party during slavery and solidly racist for a long time, but they didn't "protect slavery" until 1966. Jim Crow, sure. However, there's a reason the south went Republican.

He's got the weirdest combination of evidence-based insights from psychological studies and Jungian Neo-Christian nonsense. His points are usually more sophisticated than the sound clips indicate, but...ultimately he's a TED talk read by Kermit the frog. Kermit the Frog is a victim of domestic abus...

Re: The Future Will Despise Us Brutal Bastards
I've looked at exactly no peer reviewed studies on human pheromones, but my understanding from secondary and tertiary sources is little to no evidence. I suspect they exist, but effects are negligible compared to other factors.

Re: Occam, Trump, and Russia
Except Carter Page seems like a completely legit target and therefore discredits people that normally care about this. And they don’t actually care. From what I've read he was under investigation long before the Steele dossier was a thing. Yeah, the FBI should tell the FISC their sources, but I bet...

Re: Petty annoyances
Just found my Talking Heads collection, Once in a Lifetime, in a box. Trying to rip it using Windows Media Player, as I have for everything else. It cannot distinguish among the discs. Disc 2 and 3 ripped with the same track names. I'm trying to correct them manually, but as I scroll through the tra...

I don't think it works because you can't isolate the context of violence in a M-F interaction. Men might well feel differently about the context of violence in M-M interactions, but it seems wacky to me to assert that in an M-F interaction the F party doesn't perceive violent subtext. The whole thi...

It would be simpler to just expose everybody to just enough ozone to destroy their olfactory sense. Problem solved! But what if people can't afford to live in cities with high ozone levels? I don't see a free market solution to that problem. Sell ozone in canisters of the correct size. Marketing: "...
