Wait you’re telling me that a startup is completely ignorant of employment law and is fucking around and may later find out?

I don’t think his Pence joke pissed off lefties. If anything, it makes Shem’s point.

He is. I meant the Tucker Carlson of today is the white nationalist version of 2005 Tucker Carlson, who, at that point, was just a moderately more telegenic George Will.

Re: Orange is the new President

I totally support Trump’s pardon of Bannon. It’s the most representative exhibit of the Trump administration. Trump supporters getting conned by a Trumpist and then getting away with it because Trump doesn’t care about people that support him.

Re: Whither the GOP? (post-Trump edition)

Ivanka is most like daddy in wanting to run in elite circles and be invited to the right parties. And, like daddy, the elites want nothing to do with her. The sad irony (for her) is that prior to 2016 the elites seemed to be OK with her. I'm sure some of them didn't like her, but it's probably the ...

Re: Whither the GOP? (post-Trump edition)

If you asked me 4 years ago, I would have thought that Ivanka would have been the most viable Trump to successfully run for something. Now it's clearly DJTJ. Despite being an anthropomorphic line of coke, he clearly has identified the key appeal of his father, which is unfocused rage and resentments...

When journalism goes bad

You gotta love the WSJ’s bravery on impeachment. They went from, “Impeach Trump,” to, “Don’t impeach Trump for unity” in the span of a week.

The Rudy thing is great. The thing about stuffing your goons is that they have a reason to flip, especially if Trump is petty enough to not grant Rudy a pardon.

Re: The Right Way to View Competing Political Horrors

If this anecdote is accurate then I have no clue how America recovers. My colleague told me that efforts to overturn the election were wrong, and that voting to certify was a constitutional duty. But my colleague feared for family members, and the danger the vote would put them in. Profoundly shake...

I’m not the only one that thinks Cheney is going hard against Trump in a cynical move to be the Speaker when this all ends.

It will be interesting to see what the GOP does now that Adelson is dead and there are a bunch of companies that have pledged not to donate to the majority of R congressmen.

GM is lucky that the attack on the Capitol happen or they would be responsible for the worst assault on a hallowed American symbol since 9/11.

Re: Orange is the new President

I don't think there is time for an impeachment before he leaves. However, since impeachment is the only thing that can permanently bar him from the presidency, it is a pity that Congress can't impeach a past president. (Unless I am reading it wrong.) You can impeach anyone. Andy McCarthy, who think...
